Todays Lesson :  Simple Canopy Design 101

These 2 closeup photos show you all that you need to know to build this canopy. All you need to do is grab a tape measure and figure out your sizes. This can be applied to virtually ANY aquarium with a little forethought .........IT DONT GET ANY EASIER THEN THIS !!

- Canopy Side Panels are the exact same width as your tank.

- Top Panel and Front Panel (Door) are exact same width.

- Overlap of Canopy to tank top is optional. I overlapped the trim on

   my tank so that I would not have to try and match the stain color.

- For longer tanks,  just add additional supports  to rear of tank.

- Once you are finished assembling and staining , you must seal it from       moisture. I used Spar Varnish (exterior clear)

A Few Pointers...

I told you it was easy , now go measure your tank !

This same design can be used with any kind of wood you chose. This Canopy  is made with Birch Plywood ... however you could use pine boards also if you are trying to match a pine stand. Its all up to your particular tastes. I hope this helps you with your plans... TTFN
