The Green House
When a long time friend of our family asked us if we were interested in a free greenhouse, I said yes I would take it ("sight unseen"), but I never imagined them to be this nice for free ! This is actually two smaller houses assembled end to end. One house was 8x10, the other 8x12.  They are made by Eden Greenhouses and are designed in a way that they can be easily assembled end to end so it is now one house at 8'W x 22'L !!
One of the houses before dismantling. They were in the way and needed to be moved to put an addition on the house. We were more then happy to be of help.My Dad did all the leveling for the base with the tractor and built a small stone wall for retention. I think you would agree that he did one hell of a job !This is me and my Dad looking a bit tired but happy that we got the framework assembled and we were on our way. Neither of us ever thought we would have an opportunity for something like this. Now we will be able to start our own seedlings for the garden. Our first ever plants in the greenhouse ! We had just finished getting the glass in the ends and the doors mounted and Kelly was all ready adding some pepper plants we had bought for the garden. Sure beats keeping them on the picnic table she said !

I insulated all the gaps in the doors and vents to try to keep some heat in and it has worked like a charm.Last year the entire floor was graveled so I moved the benches to the north side, removed all the pea stone and turned the south side soil for early veggies in the ground. Seeds Planted March 4/10... Radishes nearest, then Spinach, then a row of peas on either side of the wood divider, then 14 rows of Lettuce in the rear of the greenhouse.
