guestroom
When we first looked at this house with the agent, this room was absolutely un-livable. But what caught our eye were the nice angles and corners that this room had and the beautiful view of the property when we looked out the large window.

There were large holes in the plaster wall ,exposed wood lathe with no frame around the window, and the stained and yellowed wallpaper was falling down. Sorry to say , I lost the original "before" photos when my pc crashed but below is the room after a major fixin'...

This view is looking through the doorway into the room.
I had to do some minor repairs to the woodwork on the doorframe, but it was original wood and I wanted to keep it the way it was.
The beaded doorway you see in this photo on the right goes into a walk-in closet I just finished for Kelly. It was a strange sized ,tiny space that was actually used as a bedroom in years past. That must have been some tight quarters.
The main chimney of the house runs inside the wall where you see the picture is hanging and as an add-on at sometime when a heating system was put in, the duct work was cleverly enclosed right next to it creating that double box effect.
There were a couple of good sized holes in the plaster on the lower wall where the back of the bed is and after taking a few hours to repair and fix the holes I sat back, looked at the wall and thought to myself... a nice half wall would define the angle of the ceiling a bit more and add a nice touch and save me a ton of time.
This is the right side of that same wall and shows the new light we added. This was a very dark , morbid looking room in the beginning, but the added light and color scheme of the flowered wallpaper and light greens added a nice touch to the room and created a relaxing mood.

By far this is my favorite room so far.
Ahh...the window...
I could go on for hours about this ,but lets just say it had no frame, no shelf and about a 4" gap in the wall all the way around it when we first saw this room.
The closet was a disaster area with exposed wood lathe but now has shelving on both sides for storage and looks like the day it was built.
I added some little corner shelves to the room for nick knacks and called it a day.
Last but certainly not least was the electrical in this room.

When I started tearing this room apart I noticed that it only had one outlet and it was located INSIDE the closet !
Since I didnt want to go breaking into the plaster to rewire this entire room for power in here I decided to go with the wire mould system.
I ran it just above the wooden baseboard adding 4 new outlets to cover the need for future nightstand lights etc.. Kelly made the covers on the faceplates from some of the leftover wallpaper we had..., I thought that was a great idea and a nice touch to the room.
