The Rose Beds
Roses have always been in our plans for this garden area and I have finally finished getting the bed's ready to plant. All of the stones for the border came from our property as did the composted top soil used to fill it. The soil from our land is very dark and rich as it used to be farmland from the mid 1800's right on up till maybe 20 years ago when the previous owners kept 3 horses. The top soil here on the property is nutrient loaded and ready for any flower beds I want to add. Whenever I dig somewhere I am sure to seperate that top layer from the clay beneath and stock pile it. I also compost our goat and chicken manure into it for that extra kick.

The small bed I added in front of the greenhouse is home for 2 of the roses called Moonlight Scentsation and the Red Scentsation. They are the most fragrant of the roses we ordered hence the name "Scentsation". Im hoping with a few years and plant maturity they will fill the greenhouse with their aroma being planted so closely to the entrance.
A few of the first flowers on our roses...
I purchased these 8 potted roses from Nor'East Miniature Roses shortly before they went wholesale only. They are Sorcerer , Loving Touch , First Impression , Innocence , No Worries , Sweet Diana , Moonlight Scentsation , Red Scentsation.
This raised bed I made for the roses is approximately 30 feet long and it averages about 4 feet in width and has a depth of about 15" of the composted soil on top of the original top soil.

This is another bed I have for some new roses and also a few clematis. The fencing is for deer protection. The roses in here are Scentsational , Strawberry Swirl , Think Pink , Kay Denise , Wild Thing and Pink Above All  which is a climbeing rose.
